At 11.40 o'clock yesterday morning Mrs. Margaret Bancroft, widow of Samuel Bancroft, died at the home of her son-in-law, J. D. Fluke, 1609 Seventh avenue, of paralysis. She had been in failing health for some time and had been stricken with four strokes, the last on December 28. She was compelled to take to her bed last Monday and since then continued to sink until she passed away. Deceased was born in Frankstown about 58 years ago. She had resided in Altoona for the past twenty years, during which time she made numerous friends who will learn of her death with sincere regret. Her husband preceded her to the grave three years ago. She was a member of the Simpson Methodist Episcopal church. She is survived by these children: Select Councilman W. B. Bancroft, J. C. Bancroft, Mrs. Sue Harpster, Mrs. Alla Hurd and Mrs. J. D. Fluke, all of Altoona. She is also survived by these brothers and sisters: Blair Markey, of Riddlesburg, Bedford county; Samuel Markey, of California; Mrs. Charles White, of Hollidaysburg; Mrs. Lydia Maumah, of Altoona, and Mrs. John Barroner, of Frankstown. The funeral will take place Friday afternoon, services to be conducted at the house at 2.30 o'clock by Rev. George M. Hoke, assisted by Rev. T. S. Wilcox. Interment in Fairview cemetery.
