Bankert, son of County Commissioner Robert F. Bankert, residing at 915 First avenue, died at his home at 9:50 o'clock last evening of erysipelas and a complication of diseases. He was stricken on December 10, the day on which his brother, Robert, jr., was buried. Mr. Bankert was born in this city January 16, 1877, and was married to Miss Carrie Holderbaum, of Altoona, on June 13, 1896, who survives with his parents and these children: Ruth, Fred, Mary and Ross, all at home. These brothers and sisters also survive: Silas M. Bankert, Port au Prince, Haiti; Fred B., Harry, John, Mrs. Wesley Hanna, Mrs. C. G. Clark and Mrs. E. O. Lesch, all of this city, and Miss Ella, at home. He was a member of Trinity Reformed church, Mountain City lodge No. 837, I.O.O.F., Altoona lodge No. 147, K. of P., and Altoona conclave No. 132, Improved Order Heptasophs. He was employed as carpenter at erecting shop No. 2 of the Altoona machine shops, and was widely known and greatly esteemed. Funeral announcement will be made later.
