George K. Barley, aged 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. John F. Barley of 1906 Tenth avenue, who was killed in the test flight crash of his B-29 at Lancashire, England, May 4, 1945, after having survived 26 combat missions in the European theatre of operations, will arrive in Altoona at 6.10 o'clock tomorrow evening. Friends will be received after 7 o'clock tomorrow evening at the Laughlin funeral home where funeral services will be held Friday afternoon. Interment with military honors will be made in Rose Hill cemetery. Sgt. Barley was born in Altoona March 22, 1925, a son of John F. and Ruth (Treasurer) Barley. He was graduated from Altoona High school in the class of 1943 and entered the army air force on July 20 of the same year. He served as radio operator aboard a B-29 of the 704th bombardment squadron, 8th air force. Surviving are the parents, one sister, Ellen, at home, one brother, James of Washington, D.C., and the maternal grandmother, Mrs. Rachel Treasurer.
