Old Citizens Who Have Been Called from the Troubles and Care of This Life. JOHN A. BARNHART. Sunday afternoon, at a quarter after 6 o'clock, Mr. John A. Barnhart, an old resident of Altoona, died at the residence of his son, Mr. George R. Barnhart, No. 1214 Seventh avenue, aged 60 years, 8 months and 12 years. The deceased was a soldier of the late war, having been a member of company E, Fifth Pennsylvania heavy artillery. He was a blacksmith by trade and for a number of years worked for Mr. John Kemp. The immediate cause of death was asthma from which he had suffered a long while but had always been able to work until Monday last when he was compelled to take his bed. Two sons - George R. of Altoona; A. F., of Penn's Station, Westmoreland county, and one daughter, Mrs. Sarah Grant, of Pittsburgh, survive him. He was a member of Lieutenant Stephen C. Potts post No. 62, Grand Army of the Republic, which organization will attend his funeral. To his sorrowing relatives the sympathies of their friends are extended.
