BARR Death Claimed This Esteemed Lady Early Saturday Morning Mrs. Harriet VanValzah Comfort Barr, wife of Captain Andrew R. Barr, died at her home on East Tenth street Saturday at 4.35 o'clock, of inflammatory rheumatism and heart disease. Mrs. Barr had been in ill health for the past ten days, but her condition did not grow serious until last Monday evening when she was compelled to take her bed. Everything known was done to relieve her sufferings, but all was of no avail as her life ebbed away and closed at the above mentioned time that morning. Her death makes a big void in the life of her husband and children who are broken hearted over the passing away of the wife and mother. Mrs. Barr was a most excellent woman and loved her family and home; she filled well her sphere in life and has gone to claim her reward in the Father's home beyond the skies where there is no pain, heartache and suffering. She was an earnest member of the First Presbyterian church and of several of the societies connected with this denomination, among which she gave her hearty support to the Young Ladies' Aid. She will be greatly missed in the home, church and community. Mrs. Harriet VanValzah Comfort Barr was born in Lewistown, April 22, 1869, and passed away at the age of 39 years, 11 months and 26 days. She was married in Lewistown, January 27, 1889. That same winter, Mr. and Mrs. Barr moved to Tyrone, where they have resided ever since. Mrs. Barr's parents have preceded her to the grave, but she is survived by her husband and the following children: Sarah, Mary, Andrew and Lulu; also the following brother and sisters: Lawrence Comfort, Mrs. Anna Smith, Misses Lillie, Mame, Lou and Della Comfort, of Lewistown, and Mrs. Elizabeth Knisely who has made her home with Mr. and Mrs. Barr on Tenth street. The funeral took place from the late home of the deceased at 3 o'clock Tuesday afternoon, services being conducted by Rev. George T. Gunter. Interment in Tyrone cemetery.
