John Barr, an old resident of Hollidaysburg, but for the past year a resident of Saxton, Bedford county, died at 1.30 o'clock yesterday morning, after a brief illness, aged 75 years. He was the father of Mr. S. B. Barr, of Hollidaysburg; Messrs. Thomas, John and James Barr, of Saxton, and Mrs. Ellen Hunter, of Hollidaysburg. These children, with the aged widow, survive. The remains will be brought to Hollidaysburg this afternoon and the funeral will be on Friday, the hour to be announced in to-morrow's issue of the TRIBUNE. Mr. John Barr, the father of Constable Simon Barr and Mrs. Matthew Hunter died suddenly at his home at Saxton, Bedford county, on Tuesday. The remains were brought to this place for interment and arrived here yesterday evening. The funeral will take place from the residence of Mr. Simon B. Barr on Walnut street at 2 o'clock p.m. to-day, from the residence of M. S. Hunter, on East Walnut street. [sic] Interment in Presbyterian cemetery.
