A telegram was received here on Sunday afternoon by Trainmaster Snyder, of the Altoona division, announcing that his brother-in-law, Mr. Robert Barre, of Pittsburgh, was dying. Mr. Barre is a brother of Mrs. Snyder, who immediately started for the home of the sick man. Before she reached there, however, another telegram was received containing the intelligence of his death. Mr. Barre was about 30 years of age, a machinist by occupation, and was employed in one of the many establishments on the South Side. Death was caused by typhoid fever, his illness having only extended over a period of one week. He leaves a wife and one child, also his mother, two sisters and three brothers.
