All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ BARWIS Bertram Barwis, who figured rather prominently in the press of this city a little more than a year ago, died in New Haven, Conn., Saturday evening, according to a telegram received by his mother, Mrs. Mary Barwis of 2020 Seventh avenue, yesterday morning. No particulars were given in the telegram. He was born in this city thirty-two years ago and besides his mother is survived by a wife and three children, Frances, Dorothy and Henry. Two brothers, Scott at home and Stewart in France, also survive. He left this city in July of last year, after leaving his occupation as a machinist at the East Altoona Round house, but it was not until a few days ago that relatives in this city learned of his whereabouts. A step-brother, John Barwis, of New York city, has been communicated with by Mrs. Barwis and he will go to New Haven to make funeral arrangements.
