Deaths of a Day.

Andrew Basal.

On Monday morning Andrew Basal, an old and respected resident of
Cambria county and for several years a resident of Altoona, died at
his home near Ashville, of heart trouble.  Deceased was aged 87 years
and was widely known in the city and in the vicinity in which he
resided.  He was a member of the Catholic church and is survived by
these sons and daughters:  Andrew and Mrs. Catharine Lenz, of
Gallitzin; Mrs. Mary Wyon, of Ashville; Frank, at home, and John,
whose residence is unknown.  The funeral will take place this morning,
interment to be made at Ashville.
