Mr. Bathurst retired as an Altoona yard conductor in 1947. He was born Aug. 18, 1882, at Scotia, Centre county, the son of Levi W. and Emma C. (Miller) Bathurst. Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Blanche (Gibson) Bathurst; two sons, Clair of Greenwood and Rex of Tyrone and new York; two daughters, Mrs. Norma Lathero of Harrisburg and Mrs. Opal Ramage of Greenwood; 11 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren and two sisters, Mrs. Charles Colabine of Tyrone and Mrs. Margaret Yiengst of Baltimore. He was a member of the First Methodist church, Tyrone, and the B. of R.T., 174, Altoona. Friends will be received at the Mauk & Yates funeral home. Altoona Mirror, Tuesday, July 27, 1948, page 2
