Bayer Sr., of 1110 Logan ave., died yesterday at 4:15 p.m. at Tyrone Hospital after an extended illness. He was born June 10, 1887 at Hagerstown, Md., the son of Joseph Miller and Cornelia Koons Bayer. He was married to Marjorie DeLong on Sept. 19, 1927 at Trinity Episcopal Church. He had resided in Tyrone since 1907. Surviving are the widow, two sons, John W. Jr., Tyrone, and Joseph, of Los Angeles; four daughters: Mrs. Nancy Wilt and Mrs. Elizabeth Beringer, of Tyrone; Mrs. Marjorie Barner Harrisburg; and Mrs. Mary Jane O'Rourke, Warriors Mark; 12 grandchildren, and a brother, Roy F. Bayer Sr., Tyrone; and two sisters, Mrs. Jay Hazlett, Royersford; and Mrs. Forrest Riordan, Philadelphia. A brother, Ira, preceded him in death. He was a member of the Trinity Episcopal Church, and prior to his retirement had been proprietor of the Tyrone Laundry Co. Funeral service will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Graham and Getz Funeral Home, in charge of the Rev. Donald Whitesel. Burial will be in Eastlawn Cemetery.
