Who He Has Gathered the Past Week to Swell the Great Majority. Mrs. Mary Beals, widow of the late Abraham Beals, died very suddenly at the residence of her son, William, No. 1410 Twelfth avenue, on Sunday morning at half past 1 o'clock of heart failure. She was born in Centre county, June 4, 1808, and was consequently in her 81st year at the time of her death. She came to this county about forty-five years ago and made her home on what is now the Lloyd estate. Of a family of fourteen children but two survive and are David, of Iowa, and William, of this city. She was a member of the First Lutheran church of Altoona and lived in accordance with its teachings. Altoona Tribune, February 14, 1889
