BECHER, An aged and esteemed resident of the city, died at 8.40 o'clock this morning at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Frank A. McMullen, 1738 Twenty-third avenue. Death was caused by diseases incident to advanced age, and followed two days' illness. Deceased was born in Chest Springs, Cambria county, on Feb. 22, 1838. Her husband, William Becher, died fifteen years ago. Surviving are the following children: Peter of Pittsburgh, Mrs. Martha Myers, Mrs. Mary Eckenlaub, Mrs. F. A. McMullen, Mrs. John Davis and Joseph, all of Altoona. Two sisters, Mrs. Rebecca Shofner of Wilmerding and Mrs. Catherine Ivory of Loretto, also survive along with sixteen grandchildren and ten great- grandchildren. Deceased was a member of St. John's parish. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., October 24, 1924 Funeral Notice. Funeral services for the late Mrs. Rachael E. Becher, who died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. F. A. McMullen, 1738 Twenty-third avenue, will be held Monday morning at 9 o'clock in the Cathedral of the Blessed Sacrament chapel.
