Bechhoefer died at her home in Altoona on Saturday evening. Decedent was a daughter of the late A. L. and Rebecca Bechhoefer and was born in Woodbury. She was a graduate of the Altoona high school, class of '85, and for the past ten years was a teacher in the public schools of that city. The Altoona Tribune says: "Miss Bechhoefer was an accomplished musician and an efficient Sunday school teacher and was much esteemed by all who knew her." Bedford Gazette, August 4, 1899, page 1 A SCHOOL TEACHER PASSES AWAY. After Several Weeks of Illness Miss Bertha G. Bechhoefer Passes Away at Her Home on Eleventh Street. The many friends of Miss Bertha G. Bechhoefer will learn with deep regret of her death, which sad event occurred Saturday evening at ten minutes of 7 o'clock at her home, 1416 Eleventh street. She had been sick the past few weeks with cardiac embolism, yet bore her sufferings with fortitude. The deceased was the daughter of the late A. L. and Rebecca Bechhoefer, and was born in Woodbury, Bedford county. To mourn their great loss she leaves these brothers and sisters: Mrs. J. B. Bechhoefer, Lena, Lea, Pauline, Joseph, Charles, of St. Paul, Minn., and Jacob. She was a graduate of the Altoona high school of the class of 1885, and for ten years past had been one of the most successful teachers in the public schools. She was an accomplished musician and an efficient Sunday school teacher and was much esteemed by all who knew her. The funeral services will be conducted at the late home by Rev.
