He was born December 30, 1935 in Tyrone a son of the late Benjamin J. and LaRue (Spencer) Bell. He was married June 19, 1958 at Winchester, Va. to Kay Margaret Miller. He is survived by his wife and six children, Vicki Bell of Tyrone, Benjamin Bell of Glendale, James Bell of Tyrone, Jayne Walker of Tyrone, Robin Lewis of Tyrone, Rebecca Ulrich of Tyrone, 16 grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, two sisters Betty Jane Kennedy of Hollidaysburg and Nancy Bryson of Middletown, one brother Robert Spencer of Middletown, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother Charles Bell. He was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Co., the American Legion #281 and the Bellwood Eagles. He had served in the military during the Korean Era. He was a former truck driver for 31 years with various trucking companies in the area. He retired in 1997 after 10 years as a Steward at the Hookies Fire Co. Club. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, October 26, 2004 at 1 p.m. at the Derman Funeral Home, Inc., Tyrone with Pastor A. Michele Somerville officiating. Friends will be received at the funeral home on Monday from 7-9 p.m. Tyrone Daily Herald, October 25, 2004
