At 5 o'clock last evening John, a son of Mr. E. C. Bell, of Gaysport, died. He was about 5 years of age, and has been a great sufferer for several days with dropsy of the bowels, superinduced by an attack of the scarlet fever. Funeral to-day at 3 o'clock. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Thursday, December 23, 1880 HOLLIDAYSBURG HAPPENINGS. A Correction. In our Thursday's happenings we stated that the death of little Harry, son of Mr. E. C. Bell, of Gaysport, was superinduced by scarlet fever, which we have since learned was not the case and has been a source of great annoyance to Mr. Bell and his family. None of Mr. Bell's family have had the dreaded disease, and in fact there has not been a single case of it on the street on which he resides. The true cause of his child's death was peritonitis.
