A Loving Wife and Mother Goes to Her Reward. Died at her late home in Bellwood at 1.50 o'clock Sunday morning September 19, Rebecca, wife of M. Bell, aged 64 years, 11 months and 4 days. Her death was the termination of a long period of suffering caused by Bright's disease. The deceased was eminently faithful as a wife and mother. Amiable in her disposition and thoughtful of the comfort of others, she greatly endeared herself to all who came in contact with her. In the family she especially displayed her womanly virtues. She was domestic in her tastes and habits and those only knew her best who were at some time or another inmates of her household. She was modest and retiring, a fine specimen of a gentle woman. Amid great suffering she was mindful of the welfare of those she leaves to follow and rejoiced in the meeting of those who have gone before. She united with the Baptist church at Shirleysburg, Huntingdon county, early in life, and at the time of her death was a faithful and consistent member of the Logan's Valley Baptist church of Bellwood. A husband and the following children are left to mourn the loss of earth's dearest treasure: Thomas, of Philadelphia; Mrs. Lizzie Moore, of Bellwood; Mrs. S. H. Charles, of Harrisburg; Mrs. George Bechtel, of Altoona; Misses Lib and Alice, at home. With us her name shall live Through long succeeding years. Embalmed with all our hearts can give, Our praises and our tears. The pains of death are past, Labor and sorrow cease, And life's long warfare closed at last, He soul is found in peace. Funeral service will take place at her late home on Tuesday, September 21, at 2 o'clock p.m. Interment in Logan's Valley cemetery. Morning Tribune, Altoona, September 20, 1897, page 5
