Bender, who died suddenly on Tuesday last at his home in Philadelphia, were brought to this station yesterday afternoon on Pittsburg express and were taken to Tyrone cemetery and there laid to rest beside those of his father and mother. Mr. Bender was the son of Mr. and Mrs. Louis Bender, who were among the earliest settlers of what is now Tyrone borough. The father died here some twenty odd years ago, and the mother a few years later, leaving the son, William, and one daughter, Amelia. The deceased was aged about 40 years and is survived by his wife and one daughter, and also his sister, Amelia. Mrs. W. F. Bender is the sister of Mrs. Edward Hoffman, of No. 8, Cottage street, in this place. Morning Tribune, Altoona, Pa., Saturday, August 12, 1899
