The Tyrone Herald 4/29/1915
Mrs. M. J. Zimmerman, of West Tenth street, received the sad news, Wednesday, 
April 21, of the death of her son-in-law, John Smith Bennett, Washington, D. 
C.  No particulars were received except that he was killed while at his work in 
the navy yard.  Mr. and Mrs. Bennett (who was formerly Mrs. Matthew Allison) 
spent part of their honeymoon in Tyrone last December and while here Mr. 
Bennett won many fiends who will regret very much to hear of his sudden death.  
He was a devoted member of the Episcopal church and a Free Mason and a member 
of a number of other organizations.
