M. Bare Paper company in the mill at Roaring Spring, ended his own life Sunday morning at 4.30 o'clock by shooting himself, according to Coroner Chester C. Rothrock, who was called to Roaring Spring to investigate. No cause was given. Mr. Berkheimer was a son of Charles L. and Sarah Berkhimer and was born at Roaring Spring on Aug. 14, 1882. He was united in marriage with Maude Stonerook, who survives, with two sons, Ray Franklin Berkhimer, with the armed forces overseas, and Paul L. Berkhimer, at home. Also surviving are these brothers and sisters: Mrs. E. Dodson of East Freedom, Wesley J. Berkhimer of Johnstown, William and Albert Berkhimer, Mrs. F. Adams, Mrs. Jennie Spencer, Mrs. Mae Nofsker and Mrs. Pearl Deters, all of Roaring Spring. Mr. Berkhimer was a member of the Friendship Fire company and had been employed by the D.M. Bare company at the Roaring Spring mill for many years.
