Mrs. Eliza Bice, widow of Alexander Bice, deceased, died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Andrew Shiffler, in East Freedom, on Sunday, February 17, aged 71 years, 5 months and 21 days. She was born in Huntingdon county. Her maiden name was Gorsuch, a sister of Henderson Gorsuch, of Roaring Spring, and Harry Gorsuch, of Martinsburg. She was converted at a revival meeting at Orbisonia, Huntingdon County, more than fifty years ago, and gave her name to the Methodist Episcopal church and has lived a consistent Christian life ever since. She had been an invalid for many years, but her faith in the Christian religion grew brighter as she neared death. She was the mother of a large family, five of whom are living. She was the mother of William Bice, esq., the superintendent of the quarries at Carlim. Internment in the cemetery at this place this afternoon.
