Maggie, the 14 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Ross Bice, was the victim of a very sad accident which resulted in her death a few hours later. In the absence of her mother, Maggie was attending to the domestic duties at home, when one of the smaller children overturned a lighted coal oil lamp. Maggie picked it up and ran out of doors with it when it exploded, throwing the oil all over her clothing. She ran screaming up and down the street for some one to save her. Kind friends ran to her assistance, but were not successful in subduing the flames until her limbs and body were burned in a terrible manner. A physician was hastily summoned who did all in his power to relieve her of her sufferings. She lingered in great agony until Monday, at eleven o'clock, a.m., when death relieved her of her sufferings. The parents and friends have the sympathy of the community in their sad bereavement. Funeral on Wednesday, interment at McKee's Gap. Morning Tribune, Wednesday, January 3, 1900 1900 Frankstown Township, Blair County census - Ross Bise, 36 Catharine Bise, 39 Daisy G.
