BICKEL Mr. Edwin Earl "Eddie" Bickle, 60, of 1501 hillside court, Tyrone died Thursday Feb. 5, 2004 at the Altoona hospital. He was born March 14, 1943 at pine grove mills, the son of Clair o, and Helen Smith Bickle and on June 25, 1966 at the first English Lutheran church was married to Mary Jane Butterbaugh who survives. Also surviving is a son, David Brookman Bickle of New York City; a daughter and son in law Kathleen Elizabeth "Katy" and John Allan Coltabaugh of Tyrone; a brother, Merril Bickle of Tyrone; a sister, Rose Ann Lafferty of Huntingdon; his mother in law Ruth Butterbaugh of Tyrone and his dog companion Molly and grand dog Chloe. He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Robert Bickle and his father in law George Butterbaugh. Mr. Bickle was a member of the first English Lutheran church. He was a graduate of Tyrone area high school class of 1961, received an associate degree in agricultural business from Penn State in 1967 and a BS in elementary education from Penn State in 1971. He was an elementary school teacher with the Tyrone Area School District from 1971 until his retirement in 2001. He was the owner of Bickle's Game Birds of sinking valley. He served with the United States air force from 1961-1965. He was an avid reader and hunter and had coached a Tyrone little league team and umpired Tyrone teener league baseball for many years. He played softball with the bull pen old timers softball team. Funeral services for Edwin E. Bickle will be Monday Feb. 9, 2004 at 11 a.m. at the first English Lutheran church with Pastor T. M. Talbot Moses officiating. Interment will be held at east lawn cemetery. Friends may call at the Richard H.
