He was born Dec. 28, 1884, a son of John and Catherine (Beahm) Bickel. He was employed as a blacksmith in the Altoona works car shops. Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Dora A. (Martz) Bickel; three children, Jean, Harriet and Merrill, all at home; two sisters and four brothers, Mrs. Anna Rice, Mrs. Lena Stange, Albert, John, Charles and George Bickel, all of Altoona. Mr. Bickel was a member of St. James Lutheran church, the Fraternal Order of Eagles and a member of the Concordia Singing society. Friends will be received at the home after 7 o'clock this evening. BICKEL - Funeral services for Henry Bickel will be conducted at the home, 324 Walnut avenue, Friday afternoon at 2.30 o'clock, in charge of Rev. Dr. J. F. Flegler of St. James Lutheran church.
