Biddle, a prominent and well known citizen of Roaring Spring, was held on Wednesday morning of last week in the Methodist church at that place, conducted by the pastor, Rev. A. S. Williams. Interment in Greenlawn cemetery, Roaring Spring. Death occurred the Sunday morning previous due to Bright's disease from which he suffered the past three years. Mr. Biddle was a veteran school teacher, having followed the profession for about thirty years, and taught in various schools in Blair and Bedford counties. About fifteen years ago he gave up the profession and became a local manager for the Atlantic and Pacific Tea company, which position he held until ill health came, three years ago. Deceased was born June 19, 1853, on his father's farm on Plum Creek, and was a son of Jacob and Mary Biddle. He was the last of a family of five children, and was a resident of his home district all his life. His nearest surviving relative is a nephew, Blair H. Biddle, of Roaring Spring. Surviving is also Mrs. Ada Crissman of Hays, Kansas, who was reared by Mr. Biddle's father. Levi Biddle of Leavenworth, Kansas, is a surviving uncle. He was a life long member of the Methodist Episcopal church, a member of Model lodge No. 856, Independent Order of Odd Fellows, John I. Noble Encampment, I. O. O. F., and the Woodbury Masonic lodge of Roaring Spring. He was always actively interested in the affairs of his home community, and at the time of his death was a member of the Roaring Spring school board.
