Old Citizens Who Have Been Called from the Troubles and Care of This Life. MRS. AMELIA T. BIGHAM. At 3.30 o'clock on Saturday afternoon Mrs. Amelia T. Bigham, the wife of Mr. E. M. Bigham, died at the residence of Mr. John Rowan, No. 1514 Thirteenth street, aged 74 years and 2 days. The deceased lady had been a resident of Altoona for twenty-three years and was one of the most respected of her citizens. Her death was caused by dropsy. She was the mother of eleven children, eight of whom are left to mourn the loss of a kind mother. Their names are, Rev. John C. of New Brighton, Pa.; James R., of this city; Dr. Augustus W., of Indiana; Mrs. Mary E. Conrad, of Altoona; Hayden S., of Indianapolis, Ind.; Alphonsus, of Altoona; A. G. of Philadelphia, and Edward, of New Brighton, Pa. She was a consistent member of St. John's Catholic church, having been baptized by Father Gallitzin, the pioneer priest of Cambria county. She was married by Father Hayden, of Newry, who was afterward the pastor of the Catholic congregation at Bedford. Her life had been so spent that when the summons came death found her already prepared to cross the dark river to the peace to be found by those who serve the Lord.
