CHARLES BIRD

  Charles Bird, of Ottawa, Canada, a former resident of East Altoona 
and cousin of C. R. Rodgers, of Mt. Pleasant avenue, died at his home 
in that city, February 19, after an illness of four months from 
diabetes.  Mr. Bird, whose body was interred on February 23, was one of 
the leading business men of the section, having been owner of two large 
wheat farms and a cattle ranch.  He left East Altoona in 1900, and is 
survived by a wife, Mrs. Bell (Neaffer) Bird, and two children, Charles 
jr., and Mary.
