BLACK Died last evening at 6.23 o'clock at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Richard I. Waite of 404 Fourth street, Hillcrest, Tyrone. She was born Dec. 11, 1879, at Teru-Lack, Juniata county, the daughter of David S. and Mary M. (Gray) Varner, and was married Dec. 18, 1901, at Alexandria, to William D. Black. She resided in Tyrone for the past 45 years. Surviving are her husband and the following children: Franklin L. of Washington, D.C., Clyde D., James R. and Mrs. Richard I. Waite of Tyrone. She is also survived by the following brothers and sisters: F. J. Varner of Alexandria, Rev. J. H. Varner of Fredericksburg, O., Earl of Tyrone, Mrs. Lillian Campbell of Bellwood, Mrs. Rudolph L. Norup and Mrs. Luce Wakefield of Tyrone, and six grandchildren. She was a member of the First Presbyterian church of Tyrone and of the Moore Mission circle, the Order of the Eastern Star and the Tyrone Civic club.
