Sproul, March 26. - Miss Eva Black died this morning, after an illness which covered more than three years, most of which time she was confined to her bed or at least to her room. Miss Black was 80 years of age on February 26, and at that time her relations and friends very agreeably surprised her by giving her a postcard shower in honor of her birthday. She never married and always made her home with her sister- in-law, Mrs. Jeremiah Black. She is survived by one sister, Mrs. Calvin Walter, of Claysburg. The deceased was a daughter of Michael Black and was a Christian lady who was loved and respected by all who knew her. The funeral will be held Friday morning at Claysburg, conducted by her pastor, Rev. Schrader. Interment in the Lutheran cemetery. Altoona Tribune, Thursday, March 27, 1919
