Mr. Black was a farmer and carpenter. He was born May 30, 1875, in Canoe Valley, a son of Robert R. and Susan (Harnish) Black, and married Anna Mary Tennis on Jan. 11, 1911, in Altoona. Mrs. Black died Oct. 20, 1952. Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Briggs, and a sister, Mrs. Pearl Musselman of Sinking Valley. Mr. Black was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church, Sinking Valley, and the Sinking Valley Grange. Friends will be received in the Getz & Searer Funeral Home, Tyrone, from 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow and after 9 a.m. Wednesday. clipping [Altoona Mirror, June 25, 1973]
