Black of 40 Mansion Blvd., general manager of Black & Yon, Inc., died unexpectedly at 4:30 a.m. today, Aug. 17, 1977, at Ocean View Memorial Hospital, Myrtle Beach, S.C. Mr. Black started the firm of Ray M. Black Insurance in 1933. In 1957, it was changed to Ray M. Black & Sons. A corporation was later formed. Mr. Black, born near Claysburg, attended Claysburg-Kimmel High School, Juniata College and Lock Haven State Teachers College. He was a graduate of Pennsylvania Business College, Lancaster. He taught school for several years in Blair County and taught geometry at Lock Haven State Teachers College. Mr. Black was married to the former Edna Rodgers. Surviving are his wife, two children, Donald F. of Altoona and Gerald D. of San Francisco, Calif., and four grandchildren.
