Claar Obituary Collection, Altoona Mirror, February 14, 1935

Father of John G. Black and Mrs. D. J. Lloyd of the city, died at the 
Presbyterian hospital, Pittsburgh, on Thursday afternoon.  The body may be 
viewed at the Mauk & Yates funeral home where funeral services will be held at 
1 o'clock tomorrow afternoon.  Interment will be made in Pine Grove cemetery, 
Centre county.  Mr. Black was born on May 1, 1856, and was a member of the 
Presbyterian church at Arnott, Tioga county.  In addition to the local son and 
daughter, he is survived by another son and daughter, William G. Black of 
Logan, W. Va., and Mrs. A. J. Wilson of Pittsburgh, a step-daughter, Mrs. 
George Lawrence of Windber, twelve grandchildren and one brother, James Black 
of Clearfield.
