BLACK Of 1796 Bellemead Dr., Oak Grove died Tuesday (1958) at Altoona Hospital following a brief illness. Mr. Black was born June 14, 1884, at Oak Grove, a son of Samuel C. and Rachel [Coleman] Black. He had lived in the family home all his life. He and his father had operated a tannery near the home before he took up farming. Mr. Black served for more than 30 years as a Logan Township road supervisor. His wife, the former Lila Weber, whom he married in 1911, preceded him in death. Surviving are one daughter, Mrs. Mildred Gwin of Oak Grove; one grandson and a twin brother, Clinton of Oak Grove. Mr. Black was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Juniata; Logan Lodge 490, F. and A. M. for more than 50 years; Valley of Williamsport Scottish Rite since 1910 and Jaffa Shrine Temple.
