All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/pa/blair/ _________________________________________ HARRY HOUSER BLACKBURN Of 1211 Twenty-fourth avenue, who retired recently after forty-nine years' and nine months' service as a stationary engineer in the Altoona car shops' Fourth street power plant, died at his home at 1.30 o'clock yesterday afternoon after an illness of several months duration. He was the son of the late Coroner W. T. and Ida (Houser) Blackburn. Surviving are his wife, Helen (Vance) Blackburn, three daughters, Mrs. Otto H. Epple of Altoona, Mrs. Gordon P. Smith of Hollidaysburg, Miss Louise at home, and six grandchildren. One son, Leroy G. Blackburn, well known musician preceded him in death in 1922. Also surviving are four sisters: Mrs. Samuel J. Jennings of Dalton, Mrs. G. W. Woody, Mrs. G. A. Eberle of Pittsburgh and Mrs. E. E. White of Williamsport. Mr. Blackburn was a member of the St. Theresa's Catholic church.
