MARTHA JENNIE BLAKE Mrs. Martha Jennie Blake, widow of John J. Blake, died Sunday, 5 a.m. of complications at the home of her step-daughter, Mrs. S. C. Kagarise, 423 Walnut street, Roaring Spring, after a long illness. Mrs. Blake was a daughter of Joseph and Isabel Barkley, born at Woodbury, July 15, 1869 and came to Roaring Spring after her marriage to Mr. Blake, July 21, 1887. She was a member of Christ Reformed church and of its Ladies Bible class, at Roaring Spring. Surviving are two sons and two daughters: J. H. and J. C. Blake, Altoona; Mrs. R. P. Kauffman, Roaring Spring; Miss Mary B. Blake, Detroit, Mich.; and the step daughter at whose home she died; three brothers: Harry Barkley, Williamsburg; Samuel and Simon Barkley, New York. Funeral service will be held at the Kagarise home Tuesday, 2 p.m., followed by interment in Greenlawn cemetery. Altoona Tribune, August 4, 1930
