A Brakeman Killed on the Bell's Gap Railroad. At 7:30 o'clock yesterday evening, W. H. Blake, a brakeman residing with his family at Bellwood, had occasion to flag a train and walked forward on the footboard of the engine of his own train to do so. But when on the front of the engine, he in some unknown manner, lost his footing, fell beneath the wheels and was instantly killed, the body being terribly cut and mangled. The accident, which took place near Lloydsburg, was not noticed by the engineer of Blake's train and it was not until some time afterward that the body was found and taken to Bellwood, where an inquest was held by Coroner Poet this morning, resulting in a verdict of accidental death. The young man was very highly esteemed by those who knew him, and his untimely end will be a shock to all. He originally went to Bellwood from Huntingdon county, and leaves a wife and four children. Unlike some who are less wise, he has left the widow and orphans in good circumstances, having been insured in the Standard Life Insurance company for $2,500.
