He was born in Altoona, April 23, 1876, the son of Thomas and Agnes (Mehl) Bloom, and was married to Hilda Herr, who died Oct. 25, 1938. Surviving are one son, Dr. Henry Bloom; one sister, Mrs. Martha Beasom; four brothers, Earl, Blair and James all of Altoona and Clarence Bloom, Philadelphia and one grandson. Mr. Bloom was a member of the Second Presbyterian church, the Altoona lodge of Elks, and the Travellers' Protective association, post X. A number of years ago he was associated with the Henry Schweitzer Barber Supply house and later assisted Edgar Figard in the formation of the Altoona Barber Supply company from which he retired in 1933. Friends will be received at the Hickey funeral home after 7 o'clock this evening.
