MATILDA BOBB, Widow of Major Alexander Bobb, died at her home at Martinsburg at 6 o'clock yesterday morning of pleuro-pneumonia. Major Bobb passed away about six years ago and since that time Mrs. Bobb had continued to make her home at Martinsburg. She was a woman of fine physical constitution, unbounded energy and strong character. A practical, everyday Christian, she was identified with the Methodist church and until the infirmities of age compelled her to keep more closely at home was always in her place at the service, and ever active in the work of the church. Her maiden name was Mattern. She was born at Seven Stars, Spruce Creek, on Nov. 18, 1823, being over 91 years old at the time of her death. She was married seventy years ago. Three sons survive her, W. M. of Washington, D.C.; James, and E. G. of Roaring Spring. She was known throughout Blair county by a large circle of friends. During the years of her husband's term of service as sheriff of the county they resided in Hollidaysburg, but for many years, before and since that time, Martinsburg had been her home and her death will be deeply mourned there. The funeral service will be held at 10 o'clock Saturday morning at the house, conducted by her pastor, Rev. G. M. Shimer. Interment in Green Lawn cemetery. By a strange coincidence, Mrs. Bobb's neighbor and long-time friend, Mrs. Annie Graffius Keagy, aged 79 years, lies in an extremely critical condition from a broken hip. with no hope of recovery.
