He was born in Altoona on March 29, 1891, son of Henry and Bertha (Sieg) Boldt. He is survived by his wife, Emma Louise (Gydes?) Boldt and the following brothers and sisters: August, Henry, Fred and Robert of Altoona, Herman of Greenville, S.C., Paul, Blairsville, Albert of Rearing [sic], Mrs. Earl Taylor, Mrs. R. C. Kepple, both of Altoona, Mrs. Clyde Banks, Latrobe, and Mrs. Edward Houser, Washington, D.C. He had been employed as a machinist at the Marine Aircraft corporation in Harrisburg. Mr. Boldt was a member of the Grace Lutheran church of Altoona, and the American Legion, having been a veteran of World War No. 1. He was very active in football, basketball and baseball in Altoona, having been a catcher in the Machine shop in the Pennsy league. He was well known to sports fans as "Coddles." Friends will be received at the Hickey funeral home after 7 o'clock tonight. BOLDT - Funeral services for Charles Carl Boldt will be held Friday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Hickey funeral home by Rev. Luke H. Rhoads. Interment in Rose Hill cemetery.
