BONSELL Tyrone Man Found Dead on Engine Tender Harrisburg, March 30th, 1948 -(UP) Brakeman, Charles A. Bonsell, aged 47, of Tyrone, R.D.2, was found dead in a locomotive tender at the Enola enginehouse of the Pennsylvania Railroad today. Cumberland County Coroner Edward A. Haegele said Bonsell's body was found buried in coal and that he apparently suffocated after being struck by an overhead bridge while he was riding the tender. He had been employed since 1944. Native Of Spruce Creek Born September 29, 1900, at Spruce Creek, Mr. Bonsell was the son of John and Carrie (Moffitt) Bonsell. He was married July 9, 1922, at Cumberland, Md., to Aerie C. Patterson. Surviving are his wife, his parents, and these children: Clarence of Altoona, Edna May, Margaret Louise and Kenneth all at home; a step-son, Charles B. Waler, of Tom River, New Jersey; these brothers and sisters: Robert of Chambersburg, Mrs. Conrad Cox, Albert, Claire, Paul, Ruth, Mrs. Robert McKelvey and Mrs. Harry Kennedy, all of Tyrone, and three granddaughters. Mr. Bonsell was a member of the Evangelical United Brethren Church of Tyrone, the L.O.O.M. and the B. of R.T. Altoona Mirror, Altoona, Pa., March 30, 1948
