He was born May 1, 1904, in Tyrone, the son of Leonard and Margaret Elizabeth (Love) Bonsell. On June 16, 1924, he married Miss Pearl Bressler. Surviving are his mother, his wife, one son, Donald E. Bonsell, at home; five brothers: Chester Cleveland Bonsell, Sidney Carlton Bonsell, Arthur Clair Bonsell (Luther's twin), all of Tyrone, Pa.; Clyde A., Pitcairn, Pa.; Robert L., U. S. Army in England; two sisters: Mrs. Joseph Victor (Maude) Wike and Mrs. Robert J. (Nellie) Kingston, both of Tyrone. He was a member of the Blazing Arrow Hook and Ladder Fire Company. Mr. Bonsell was a brakeman for the P.R.R. with the Pittsburgh division. Friends will be received at the home after 6 o'clock this evening. Funeral services will be held at the home on Saturday afternoon at two o'clock in charge of Reverend Dr. James R. Jackson, pastor of the First Presbyterian Church; followed by burial in Eastlawn Cemetery, Tyrone, Pa. Tyrone Daily Herald, Tyrone, Pa., April 27, 1944, page 6
