"Shorty" Bonsell, of Fort Washington, died on May 25, 2007. He was married to Elizabeth Tomlinson, who preceded him in death. He later married Dorothy Kennedy. He is survived by three children, Linda Zito, Edward, and Nancy Salvetti; four step-children, Cindy, Bill, Glen, and Jill Kennedy; five grandchildren, Lauren, Brittany, Holly, Matthew, and Nichole and two brothers, Gerald of Tyrone and Richard of Louisville. He was preceded in death by his first wife; a son, Stephen, devoted companion of Sue Wordinger; two sisters, May Gingrich and Anna Jane Adams; and a brother Edward. He graduated from Tyrone High School on May 29, 1945. He was a member of the National Guard. An experienced nurseryman with his own business, he also worked as Grounds Supervisor for Upper Dublin School District, Provident Life Insurance Company, and Montgomery County Parks. His many loves included fishing, hunting, dancing, playing cards and spending time with his dog Bear. Relatives and friends are invited to the Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Alphonsus Roman Catholic Church, 33 Conwell Drive, Maple Glen, PA. Interment will be held at Rose Hill Cemetery. Viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church. In lieu of flowers, memorials in his name may be sent to Abington Memorial Hospital Hospice Care, 1200 Old York Road, Abington, PA 19002. Arrangements are by the Shaeff-Myers Funeral Home, Inc.
