The Tyrone wreck train was on the way from Milesburg to Bellefonte. At the same time, a shifting-engine passed from the Bellefonte yard to the main track and started toward Milesburg. At the sharp curve, the train and shifter met, and a terrific collision resulted, in which both locomotives were badly wrecked. The tool car of the wreck train, too, was considerably damaged. The accident brought death to one man, Charles William Borman, of Tyrone, who was a laborer in the wrecking crew. His head was crushed, and his death must have been almost instantaneous. Edward H. Woodring, fireman on the wreck train locomotive, was painfully injured about the head and shoulders. One or two others of the crew were slightly hurt. Fireman Woodring was brought to his home in Tyrone on day express. The body of Mr. Borman was brought here on the same train, and was removed to Graham's undertaking rooms to be prepared for burial, before being taken to his late home. C. William Borman resided with his mother and brother at 1463 Logan Avenue. He was born in Snyder County. The family lived in Bellefonte for some time, and thirteen years ago they removed to Tyrone where they have since resided. The unfortunate young man had been employed as a laborer on the wreck train crew for over eight years past. He was a reliable employee and an altogether worthy young man. He was member of the P.R.R. Voluntary Relief department. The deceased was aged 28 years, 4 months and 15 days. Surviving him are his mother, Mrs. Eleanora Borman; two brothers, John H. and David Borman, of Tyrone; and two sisters, Mrs. John A. Haupt, of Tyrone, and Mrs. J. O. Noll, of Milesburg. He is also survived by three step- brothers, Jonathan, of Philadelphia; and Lincoln and Emerson, of Snyder County; and one step sister, Mrs. Harvey Lutz, of Bellefonte. The funeral services will be conducted at the late home of the deceased, 1463 Logan avenue, by Rev. J. D. W. Deavor, Ph.D. and Rev. F. L. Bergstresser at 2 o'clock Thursday afternoon.
