BOWEN Of 72 Mineral Springs Road, Buffalo, N.Y., died at 3:15 a.m. on Nov. 27, 1971, in Altoona Hospital following a heart attack which she suffered while visiting her sister, Mrs. Viola Kiser of Altoona. She was born in Altoona on Nov. 4, 1892, a daughter of T. E. and Lottie (Glunt) Carothers, and was twice married, first to John Benton, who died in 1947, and then to Peter Bowen, who died in 1967. Surviving is a son, Richard Benton, in California; four stepson, Robert, Richard, James and Thomas Bowen of Buffalo, and two sisters, Mrs. Viola Kiser of Altoona and Mrs. Belva Woolsley of Upper Darby. A son, Donald Benton who retired from the Army, died in June 1969 in Michigan. While in Altoona, Mrs. Bowen was a member of the Seventh-day Adventist Church. Interment was made in Buffalo.
