Former Local Man Is Buried At Arlington The body of Sgt. Thomas V. Bowen 2nd, aged 28, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas V. Bowen of 714 East Grant avenue and husband of Mrs. Alda Mae (Patrick) Bowen of Youngstown, O., was reinterred today in the National cemetery, Arlington, Va., with full military honors. Sgt. Bowen was killed in action in Germany, April 2, 1945, while serving with an armored infantry division of the 3rd army, after having been overseas two months. He first landed in England and moved shortly thereafter into France and the combat zone. Sgt. Bowen entered the service from Youngstown, O., and trained at Camp Wolters, Tex., where he then served as an instructor, continuing at Fort Meade, Md. Later he served at Camp Howze, Tex., at an advanced infantry station, holding the rank of sergeant from early in his service. In Youngstown he had been employed as an inspector by the Hydril corporation and resided at 556 Park Cliff avenue. He married Miss Patrick Dec. 30, 1941. He was born in Altoona Dec. 31, 1916, a son of Thomas V. and Margaret (Rodkey) Bowen, graduating from Altoona High school and residing here until locating in Youngstown. Surviving are his wife, one son, Thomas 3rd, his parents, and the following brothers and sisters: Lipton S. Bowen of New York, Robert of the city, Jack of Baltimore, Md., David, at home, Mrs. Virginia Kopff of New York, Miss Margaret, at home, Miss Elizabeth of Erie, Miss Florence of Bridgeton, N.J., Kathryn and Harry, at the home.
