MISS JOHANNA BOWER

  Miss Johanna Bower, a foster daughter of Mrs. S. A. Bower, of 910 
Second avenue, this city, died at her home Christmas morning at 7 
o'clock, at Williamsport.  She was expected to spend the holiday in 
this city with Mrs. Bower and the latter's daughter, Mrs. S. G. 
Washabaugh.  A message came to the Altoonans later in the day, 
informing them of Miss Bower's demise.  She is survived by Mrs. Bower, 
and three foster-sisters, Mrs. Washabaugh, of this city; Mrs. William 
McConnell, Williamsport, and Mrs. Carrie Pineau, of New York city.  The 
Altoonans departed to attend the obsequies which will be held probably 
today.
