She was born March 1, 1923, in Duncansville, daughter of the late Charles and Elsie (Stom) Gearhart. She married Stanley M. Bowser. Mrs. Bowser was a member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Cumberland. She was a 1949 graduate of Shenandoah Conservatory of Music, Dayton, Va., being mad assistant to the Dean of the organ department. She did her graduate studies at the Union Theological Seminary in New York City and the Princeton Choir College, Princeton, N. J. Mrs. Bowser was church organist at First Lutheran Church, Altoona, and at various other churches in New York, Ohio, and Maryland. She also had been a substitute teacher in music and special education for Allegany County, Md. Surviving are her husband; a son, Stanley C. of Mercersburg; and a brother Charles of Littleton, Colo. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Upchurch Funeral Home, Cumberland. BOWSER - Funeral services for Geraldine Mae Bowser will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, May 29,1999, at St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Cumberland Md., with the Rev. Stephen F. Yelovich officiating. Interment will be made at Carson Valley Cemetery, Duncansville. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at Upchurch Funeral Home, 202 Greene St., Cumberland, Md.
