Boyer, a prominent resident of the city, of 2003 Eighth avenue, died at his home yesterday morning at 8:45 o'clock. Death was due to a complication of diseases resulting from a heavy cold sustained three weeks ago. On June 11, 1836, Mr. Boyer was born in Bedford county. He came to this city when very young and early in life he became identified with Louis Plack in the planing mill business. In 1876 he severed his relations with the firm and engaged in the grocery business at 2001 Eighth avenue, continuing until January, 1914, when he disposed of his interests to A. M. Lauver. Mr. Boyer resided in the Sixth ward for forty years. He was temperate in all things and was not addicted to tobacco in any form and was never known to use profane language. He was highly esteemed among scores of acquaintances and was a life-long member of Christ Reformed church. He was prominent in fraternal circles, also. He was a Mason and a member of Jaffa temple. A.A.O.N.M.S., as well as Verandah lodge, No. 532, I.O.O.F., and was next to the oldest living charter member of Logan lodge, No. 79, K. of P. He was a Republican in politics. Two sons, Louis A. and Frank P., both of this city, survive. His wife preceded him to the grave six years ago. Funeral services will occur from his late residence tomorrow afternoon and will be conducted by local Masons. Interment will follow in Fairview cemetery.
