On Tuesday morning a dispatch was received by Mrs. Isabella Davis, of Altoona, announcing the death of Mr. Peter Boyles at the house of his brother, in Providence, Rhode Island. The dispatch contained no particulars, but the presumption is his death was sudden and unexpected, as Mrs. Davis but a few days previous received a letter from the deceased stating he would leave Providence and return to Altoona about the 16th of December. Mr. Boyles was born in county Monegan, Ireland, in the year 1798, and came to this country about fifty years ago and for many years resided in Gaysport. He was a good citizen, a zealous Catholic and a true friend, and we have no doubt was ready for the summons however sudden the announcement.
