BRADY, A former resident of this city, died at the home of his son, James Brady, in Secane, a suburb of Philadelphia, late Monday night of diseases incident to old age. Deceased was in his 72d year. For twenty-five years he was a resident of this city and was employed by the Pennsylvania railroad company as a blacksmith. During the civil war he fought for the north and has an enviable war record. Twenty-five years ago he left this city and has resided in the east ever since. He was a member of the Chestnut Avenue Methodist church while residing in this city, and was also a member of Post 62, Grand Army of the Republic. Four years ago, his wife died and was buried in Fairview cemetery. One son survives him, James Brady, with whom he made his home. The remains will be brought to this city tomorrow afternoon at 3 o'clock and interment will be made from the train in Fairview cemetery. Altoona Mirror, Wednesday, January 22, 1908 Note: In the 1870 Altoona, Blair county census, there is a John B. Brady, age 35, with a son named James A. In the 1900 census of Philadelphia, John B. Brady is listed with James A. Brady, son. John B. and Mary J. Brady are interred in lot H, section 26 of Fairview cemetery.
